The Dojo

The Actor's Dojo

What are we about?

We're here to empower fellow actors to:
1. Significantly increase the odds of achieving their vision of success.
2. Do so in a way that makes the journey one of ease and joy. Yes, it's possible.

How do we do this?

We study the best mindset and strategy frameworks and practices (both classic and cutting-edge), then distill and alchemise these into practical inspiration and action for actors. Essentially, we read a lot (so you don't have to), and turn game-changing insights not originally meant for actors into game-changing insights specifically tailored to actors.

Why the Actor's "Dojo"?

"Dojo" is a Japanese word that when broken down means: dō (way, pursuit) + jō (a place), so at its core, refers to a place where a specific pursuit is practiced.

At a deeper level (from Joe Hyams in Zen in the Martial Arts):
"A dojo is a miniature cosmos where we make contact with ourselves - our fears, anxieties, reactions, and habits. It is an arena of confined conflict where we confront an opponent who is not an opponent but rather a partner engaged in helping us understand ourselves more fully."
