Content We Loved in 2025

The content we consume influences the person and performer we become. This is a drum we'll bang until the Dojo desists: our content diet matters more than we think.

Historically, we've published a round-up of our favourite reads at the end of each year. This year, however, we thought we'd mix in a few of our fave podcasts, TV series, and films for a little extra variety. A conscious content diet doesn't have to be boring or restrictive. In fact, there's quite a range across our top 10 picks of 2025, so we're confident there will be a content Scooby snack for everyone🍿

Full disclosure: we provide Amazon Associates links in the books section below. If you make a purchase using these links, we receive a few cents from Amazon (at no extra cost to you). Muchas gracias for helping keep the Dojo up and running!

Books

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
by Suzanne Collins
πŸ‘‰ The "young adult" categorisation doesn't do this series justice. It's hard not to see the parallels to current events and recent history.

Sabbath
by Wayne Muller
πŸ‘‰ If you could do with a compelling case for the value of rest and leisure, this will do it. Even the experience of reading this read is deeply restorative.

Wherever You Go, There You Are
by Jon Kabat-Zinn
πŸ‘‰ Kabat-Zinn is one of the OGs of Western mindfulness, and this is one of his most important – and most accessible – works.

Re-read:
Your Money or Your Life
by Vicki Robins
πŸ‘‰ This acted as a profound wake-up call when we first read it in 2022, and it remains a strong reminder today. We've gifted this book to many an amigo over the last three years.

Podcasts

The 5 Types of Wealth: Sahil Bloom On Why Time, Friends, Mind & Body Always Come Before Money
from The Rich Roll Podcast
πŸ‘‰ Another piece of content we've shared widely since consuming it. Wisdom we all know in theory, but can forget to embody in practice.

How to Find and Live by Your Values
from SOLVED with Mark Manson
πŸ‘‰ Two years of reading research literature has led to values becoming increasingly central to the work we do at the Dojo. An accessible – occasionally irreverent – take on the topic.

Paul Graham (How To Do Great Work)
from Founders
πŸ‘‰ We'll be re-listening to this episode, without a doubt. Equal parts encouraging and a kick in the booty.

Re-listen:
Elizabeth Gilbert β€” How to Set Strong Boundaries, Overcome Purpose Anxiety, and Find Your Deep Inner Voice
from The Tim Ferriss Show
πŸ‘‰ Elizabeth Gilbert at her finest. Need we say more?

TV series

Shrinking S2
from Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, and Brett Goldstein
πŸ‘‰ An alternately heart-breaking and heart-warming depiction of relationships in today's world.

Films

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
from Joaquim Dos Santos and Justin K. Thompson
πŸ‘‰ Come for the animation, stay for the story.
